The employees of Interior Ministry’s Department to Combat Drugs and State Border Service rendered harmless the organized gang attempting to smuggle a great deal of drugs from Islamic Republic of Iran.
On June 16, when operations were held to detain the boat with drugs in Goyshaban village of Lankaran, the men in the boat resisted the police. The police were obliged to use firearm. As a result of it, Heyderi Zahid Rashid was wounded. All members of the criminal gang, citizens of Iran – Vehdet Nazari Bahruz, Heyderi Zahid Rashid, Rahet Nihdani Mahinyahya and Zahra Javad were arrested. Over 50kg hashish, 60 cartridges, 1 gas bottle and 2 special GPS devices were taken from the boat. Criminal case has been launched on the fact, investigation is underway.
