Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. “State does not interfere with religion in Azerbaijan. But there is a need to regulate religious activity in the country,” chief of socio-political department of the President’s Administration Ali Hasanov said commenting on the amendments proposed to the law on “Freedom of religion”. He said the activity of religious organizations was regulated in all states.
“There is not any state in the world where the activity of religious organizations is not regulated. But people are free to express freedom of religion, participate in the ceremonies. The amendments to the law have nothing to do with it. The amendments envisage setting a certain limit on and regulating the religious activity. There is nothing extraordinary here,” he said.
