Huseyn Arabul sentenced to two-month imprisonment

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Former president of Barmek-Azerbaijan company Huseyn Arabul was sentenced to two-month imprisonment, Arabul’s lawyer Abbas Atakishi told APA. The lawyer said Huseyn Arabul was taken to Sabayel district court and the court sentenced him to two months in jail.

Former president of Barmek-Azerbaijan company Huseyn Arabul was detained near the Alazan river by Shamkir frontier guards while attempting to leave Azerbaijan for Georgia at 02.00. Criminal case was launched against him on Article 318 (illegal crossing the state border) of the Criminal Code.

Huseyn Arabul was accused of embezzling the state property. In 2007, Court of Grave Crimes passed a five-year suspended sentence with a fine of AZN 1.370 million. According to the court’s decision, he is banned from leaving Azerbaijan within this period.
