Members of community acquaint themselves with new Baku Jail - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Baku. Ramil Mammadli â€“ APA. Members of community have today acquainted themselves with the new Baku Jail, APA reports. Representatives of security agencies, law-enforcement bodies, heads of diplomatic corps, human rights defenders, representatives of media participated in the event. They acquainted themselves with medical unit, criminalistic registration, quarantine, investigation rooms of defendants, centralized managements system, punishment cell and other units. Chief of Punishment Execution Inspection of Justice Ministry Malik Alakbarov told journalists that the new jail was destined for 2500 people. He said the jail would consist of 9 buildings, 3 of them had been opened. He said there would be 576 cells in the jail.

Alakbarov said the jail met the modern standards. He noted that the prisoners held in Bayil jail #1 would be transferred to the Baku jail soon, the prisoners held in detention facility #3 in Shuvalan would be transferred to the Baku jail by the year end.

Alakbarov said 350-place jail for women, 150-place correctional facility and new buildings for the Court of Grave Crimes would be constructed near Baku Jail.
