Gusar resident sentenced to 11 years in jail for killing his wife

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Court of Grave Crimes has today finished the hearing on the case of Gusar resident Rahil Shikhzadayev accused of killing his wife, APA reports. Judge Eynulla Valiyev presided over the process. The court sentenced Rahil Shikhzadayev to 11 years in jail.

According to the indictment, resident of Ashagi Leyer village of Gusar region, ex-prisoner Rahil Shikhzadayev had a conflict with his wife Sabina Shikhzadayeva on June 22, 2008. Shikhzadayev killed his wife and threw the body to the forest near the village. Law-enforcement bodies supposed that Sabina Shikhzadayeva was missing. On June 10, some village residents saw a torn body in the forest and informed the law-enforcement bodies about it. The forensic medical examination determined that the parts of the body belonged to Sabina Shikhzadayeva, the crime had been committed by her husband.

Rahil Shikhzadayev faced charges under Article 120.1 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code.
