National Security Ministry rendered harmless three groups smuggling narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan, 56kg narcotics confiscated

Residents of Astara region â€“ Parviz Aliyev, Ilham Samadov and Asef Gasimov, Berde region residents â€“ Asef Azimov and Saleh Mammadov, unidentified citizens of Islamic Republic of Iran and others smuggled a great deal of narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan.
As planned in advance, Parviz Aliyev and Ilham Samadov received the narcotics smuggled by Iranian citizens in Astara region and hid them together with Asef Gasimov. By the order of Parviz Aliyev, Ilham Samadov and Asef Gasimov handed over the narcotics to Asif Azimov and Saleh Mammadov in Keledehne village of Astaraa region and they loaded Mercedes with the drugs. After that Asef Azimov and Saleh Mammadov hid the narcotics in the BMW-X5 they had stopped at the exit of Astara. Asef Azimov was driving BMW-X5 and Saleh Mammadov was driving Mercedes, when they were detained by the officers of the National Security Ministry in Lankaran. About 40kg hashish was found in the BMW-X5.
As a result of other operations carried out by the National Security Ministry, Astara residents â€“ Agagul Abbasguliyev, Alim Abbasov and Sumgayit resident Kamal Aliyev were detained, 4 kg heroin was found on them.
It was determined that the above-mentioned persons, as well as the unidentified citizens of Islamic Republic of Iran smuggled narcotics from Iran to Azerbaijan.
Agagul Abbasguliyev ordered to Alim Hasanov to receive drug smuggled by Iranian citizens to Azerbaijan and to hide it in the forest. Then Abbasguliyev told Hasanov to carry the narcotic drugs to Sumgayit and promised him $8000 for that. Hasanov agreed with that.
Hasanov carried the drug in the sport bag to Baku and agreed with Kamal Aliyev to meet in Sumgayit. Kamal Aliyev came to Sumgayit in taxi and they were detained by the officers of the Ministry of National Security there. 4 kg heroin and $8000, promised to Hasanov, were found near them.
As a result of operation conducted by the Ministry of National Security, residents of Yardimli region â€“ Malik Bashirov, his brother Fkhraddin Bashirov, Zakulla Jafarov and Islam Akperov were detained and 12 kg of heroin, hashish and opium were confiscated from them.
The above-mentioned people and Iranian citizens, whose named are identified now agreed in advance to smuggle narcotic drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan for sale. All three facts are investigated under article 206.3.2 (smuggle on preliminary arrangement by group of persons), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code.
Necessary investigative and operational measures are taken for clearing of all facts related to the criminal case and illegal actions.
