Investigation of criminal case on building blast in Javad khan street in Azerbaijan’s capital ends

Baku Prosecutor’s Office told APA that two were accused over the case and the investigation materials had already been sent to Nasimi district court.

Gas leak caused blast in apartment 60 of the five-storey building in Javad khan street, 30, of Nasimi district of Baku on January 16. 5 were killed, 10 injured in the blast. Baku Prosecutor’s Office launched criminal case on the fact on article 314.2 (negligence causing serious consequences) of the Criminal Code.

Shirvan resident, Orkhan Rahim Aliyev, who was renting a flat in the building, was detained by Nasimi district police office on January 17. Later it was proved that the blast happened because of his fault. Accusations were brought against him.

It was also determined that when employee of gas supply area #6 of Nasimi district Gas Supply Department Gurbanov Raset Izzet was acting as chief of gas supply area, he did not fulfill his duties and his actions caused death and other serious consequences.

Under the investigation carried out by Baku Prosecutor’s Office, it was proved that Orkhan Aliyev committed the crime envisaged in Article 124.2 (murder on imprudence of two or more persons), 131.1 (causing of minor serious harm to health on imprudence), 131.2 (causing of serious harm to health on imprudence) and 187.3 (destruction or damage on imprudence of another’s property, causing damage to the victim in a significant size) and Gurbanov Raset Izzet committed the crime envisaged in Article 314.2 (negligence causing serious consequences) of the Criminal Code. Initial investigation of the case has finished. The case has been submitted to Nasimi district court for consideration.
