- Is there any progress in investigation into gunman attack to Azerbaijan State Oil Academy?
- As you know, all necessary measures are being taken. An investigation group of professional officers from police and prosecutor office has been set up. Investigation of the crime motive, contacts of the criminal, whether there was accomplices and other matters is under way. This investigation is under the supervision of the President. With regard to anything new in the investigation, let me say the investigation group will release information when it deems necessary.
- Some media reports claim the criminal was a Kurdâ€¦
- Criminals have no nationality. This criminal made an unprecedented brutality in the history of Azerbaijan, irrespective of his nationality. This is the tragedy of our people. The law enforcement bodies are taking all necessary measures to investigate all the details of this crime.
- After this incident, some claim the security of citizens is not ensuredâ€¦
- It is a fact that stability has been established in our country and it is firm. Not only we but also foreign diplomatic representatives in Azerbaijan, businessmen, foreign investors, citizens confirm this fact. No country is insured against serious crimes like this. Unfortunately, similar crimes happen even in countries with the tightest security. Simply, people should be watchful.
- Some media reports claim police beat people who came to remembrance ceremony on May 1â€¦
- I would like to note once again that this is a tragedy of our people as a whole, and it doesnâ€™t become to anybody to use the national tragedy for political purposes. Some pre-prepared young people from Front Party, Musavat and Liberal Party and Dalgha Youth Movement, insisting on the organization of remembrance ceremony in Azadlig Square, tried to cause an incident with police. They were prevented. I would like to note once again that attempts to use the tragedy of people for political purposes and illegal actions could be regarded as obstacles to the detailed investigation of crime and identification of culprits.
