General Prosecutorâ€™s Office and Interior Ministry issue official statement on shooting in Azerbaijan State Oil Academy

An unknown man entered the building, where the faculties â€œOil gas fieldâ€ and â€œOil engineeringâ€ of Azerbaijan Oil Academy located in Dilara Aliyeva Street, 227, and shot at everybody he met from the first floor up to the six floor. 12 were killed, 13 wounded in the aftermath of the shooting.

Responsible employees of special task police unit, district police and prosecutorâ€™s offices immediately arrived at the site. Seeing he will be rendered harmless by the police the criminal killed himself.

The site and the bodies were examined, forensic medical, trace examination, ballistic examination and other examinations were determined.

An ID card belonging to Georgian citizen Gadirov Farda Asad, 29, â€œMakarovâ€ pistol, 3 especially-prepared cartridge-belts with 71 bullets, 2 pistols, 2 magazines were found on the offender.

According to the first reports, Ayaz Javanshir Bagirov, Yusif Telman Bandaliyev, Tamella Zulfugar Azizova, Taleh Tariyel Mammadov, Ramiz Khalil Abdullayev, Shafa Afet Mammadova, Majnun Abdulvaid Vahidov, Ayna Abbasgulu Gurbanova, Savalan Allahverdi Jabbarov, Emin Imamali Abdullayev and Ruslan Babashov were killed in the shooting. Mustafa Mohammad (Sudan), Seyid Ahmad Amuri (Sudan), Daas Muaviya (Syria), Rahman Akhundov, Zemfira Huseynli, Sabina Gurbanova, Elshan Mammadov, Elvin Jabiyev, Kenan Isayev, Faig Rustambeyov, Ilkin Shiraliyev, Elshan Mustafayev and Bakhtiyar Jafarov were wounded.

One killed persons are identified.

A criminal case was launched under article 120.2.2 (deliberate murder committed from hooligan prompting), 120.2.4 (deliberate murder committed with special cruelty or in publicly dangers way), 120.2.7 (deliberate murder of two or more persons), article 29 (attempt to murder), article 228.1 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies (except for the smooth-bore hunting weapon and ammunition to it), explosives) of the Criminal Code. An investigative group of professional experts was established for investigation of the reasons of the crime, contacts of the persons committed the crime and other necessary investigations. The group is taken the intensive measures.

The investigation of the criminal case is under the President of Azerbaijan Republic. The headquarters established in the second corpse of the Oil Academy is informing the citizens about the event. The Interior Ministry and General Prosecutorâ€™s Office established hotline services.
