Five accused in “ecstasy case”, including Ilhama Guliyeva’s son released from court room in Azerbaijan

APA reports that judge Azer Orujov presided over the process. The court passed judgment on the defendants.
The court sentenced Yalchin Hasanov to 8 years, Ruslan Zaliyev to 2 years, Ruslan Rustamov to 7 years and 3 months, Ali Ismayilov to 7 years and 6 months, Zubiya Gulami to 6 years, Vugar Aliyev to 2 years, Javidan Aliyev to 2 years, Hasan Hasanov to 7 years and 3 months in jail.
Under the decision, Orkhan Nadirov were sentenced to 11 months, Ramin Hasanov to 10 months, Kamala Eyvazova to 10 months, Elshan Budagov to 10 months and Mirali Aliyev to 10 months, but they were released from the court room.
The judgment was not applied to Mahir Mirsalamli. Earlier, the court passed a judgment to stop the criminal case on him until he recovers. He is being treated in the medical unit of Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service.

The 14-men group is accused of illicit drug turnover. According to the indictment, Orkhan Nadirov, Mahir Mirsalamli and Yalchin Hasanov, Ruslan Rustamov, Ali Ismayilov, Zubiya Gulami, Vugar Aliyev, Javidan Aliyev, Ramin Hasanov, Kamila Eyvazova, Elshan Budagov, Hasan Hasanov, Mirali Aliyev faced charges under articles 234.1 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) and 234.4.1 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code. They were arrested as a result of the operations carried out by the National Security Ministry in May, 2008. A great deal of “ecstasy” was found on them.
