Trial of Nardaran citizens threatened MP with death postponed

On Friday, the Sabunchu District Court of Baku held hearing on the criminal case of residents of Nardaran village Haji Ali Huseynov and Haji Hikmet Veliyev, who are accused in the threatening of chairman of Citizen Solidarity Party, Member of the Parliament Sabir Rustamkhanli with death. MP Rustamkhanli didnâ€™t attend the trial presided over by Judge Yusif Karimov, APA reports. Defense counsel demanded the court to ensure Sabir Rustamkhanliâ€™s participation in the hearing. The judge said he gave testimony during the preliminary investigation, but didnâ€™t attend the court hearing. Defendantsâ€™ lawyer Alovsat Agamoglanov said Rustamkhanli should confirm his testimony to the court. Then the judge invited the public prosecutor to the hearing.
The prosecutor said he couldnâ€™t deliver speech at the court while the complainantâ€™s testimony was not publicized.
The hearing was postponed until April 21.
