Justice Ministry, Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General’s Office issue joint statement on murders committed atrociously in Baku in 2003

Baku – APA. Azerbaijan’s Justice Ministry, Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General’s Office issued a joint statement on the murders committed in 2003, press service of Prosecutor General’s Office told APA. As a result of the operations carried out by Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Service, Interior Ministry’s Crime-Search Department and Department for Investigation of Grave Crimes of Prosecutor General’s Office, murders committed atrociously six years ago have been solved. Bodies of a man and woman were found burnt in Khudu Mammadov street, Khatai district on April 3 and April 8, 2003. Khatai district prosecutor’s office launched criminal cases on the facts on article 120.1 (premeditated murder) of the Criminal Code. But as the bodies and the offenders were not identified both criminal cases were closed in October, 2003.
On January 22, 2009, the cases were updated and the Department for Investigation of Grave Crimes of Prosecutor General’s Office was commissioned to investigate the cases. As a result of the operations, the bodies were identified. They were Georgian citizen Askarov Ramin Nizamovich (born in 1980) and his mother Georgian citizen Askarova Goychak Abdulla (born in 1957).
The investigations found out that the murders were committed by Georgian citizens – Ajalov Nazim Emin, 47, and his wife Ahmadova Raina Aladdinovna, 36. Thus, N. Ajalov, who has been serving sentence since 2005 in Jail # 12 under the articles 177.3.2 (causing damage in large size), 228.1 (Illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, explosives) and 234.1 (Illegal purchase or storage without a purpose of selling of narcotics or psychotropic substances in a quantity (amount) exceeding necessary for personal consumption) of the Criminal Code, together with his wife Railna Ahmadova decided to kill Askarov Ramin Nizamovich as he rejected to pay debt to them. Futher, N. Ajalov left for Rustavi City of Georgia and invited Ramin Askarov to Baku. On April 2, 2003, after having supper together in the rented apartment, N. Ajalov together with his wife hit Askarov with blunt tool and killed him. In order to conceal the crime, N. Ajalov together with his wife Railna Ahmadova burnt the body in the dump near the building #39 in Kh. Mammadov Street.
N. Ajalov also decided to kill Askarova Goychak Abdulla, mother of R. Askarov as she might have doubts about his murder. For this purpose, on April 2, 2003, he called Rustavi City and invited Goychak Askarova to Baku. After killing Goychak Askarova on April 7, they burnt her body behind the grocery next to their building.
Ajalov Nazim Emin and his wife Ahmadova Raina Aladdinovna were found guilty. Nazim Ajalov was arrested under the articles 120.2.1, 120.2.5, 120.2.6 and 120.2.10 of the Criminal Code. Raina Ahmadova is wanted under the same articles. The investigation is underway.
