TV reporter gives testimony at the trial of radical religious group

Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Hearing on the case of former officer of Azerbaijani Army Kamran Asadov and 19 others was continued in the Military Court of Grave Crimes on Wednesday. APA reports that judge Islam Neymanov presided over the process. ANS TV reporter Nijat Jafarov gave a witness testimony. Jafarov said he was the accused Samir Aliyev’s classmate at the secondary school. Jafarov said he didn’t attend the praying, but accused Kamran Babyev rented their house for 3-4 months through the Samir Aliyev’s brokerage. Jafarov said he didn’t witness any religious ceremonies by Kamran Babayev in their house. Then the accused persons asked about the court decision regarding the pressures on accused Ilkin Ismayilov. Judge Neymanov said the court informed the relevant organizations about the incident. The trial was continued behind closed doors because of declaration of military documents.
The hearing will be continued on April 16.

Kamran Asadov, Bakhtiyar Orujov, Farid Jabbarov, Elshan Mammadov, Kamran Babayev, Samir Mehbaliyev, Terlan Karimov, Edgar Aliyev, Ramil Karimov, Shirvani Babayev, Samir Aliyev, Yalchin Maharramov, Orkhan Alizadeh, Hajibala Huseynov, Azer Ibadov, Shahriyar Maharramov, Ramin Jalilov, Rovshan Abdulaliyev, Ilkin Ismayilov and Vugar Aliyev are accused of setting up a radical religious group, attempting to start military struggle, attacking on LUKoil petrol station in Baku, preparing terror attack on the U.S. and UK embassies in Azerbaijan.
