Court decides to inform General Prosecutor and Minister of National Security about the torture against the member of radical religious group

APA reports that judge Islam Neymanov, who presided over the process, said accused Ilkin Ismayilovâ€™s mother Arzu Ismayilova appealed the court and asked to judge the case fairly. Defending lawyer Yaver Huseyn said that accused Ilkin Ismayilov was tortured in the isolation ward of the Ministry of National Security on Tuesday. He was beaten and injured by the jail guards, who forced him to shave face, said the lawyer. Ilkin Ismayilov also confirmed that when he refused to shave face, the guards fettered him and shaved his beard and eyebrows. â€œThey undressed and sent me to the cold lockup. I found a button in the lockup and tried to open a vein. I will die, but I will say truth. They told me it was their chiefâ€™s order. My life is threatened. I am asking the court that Ombudsperson Elmira Suleymanova, Chairman of Anti-Torture Committee Elchin Behbudov to visit me. Let us to move to the Bayil Isolation Ward. I will go on hunger strike. I can commit any crimeâ€.
Other accused persons Kamran Asadov, Samir Mehraliyev and others confirmed the Ilkin Ismayilovâ€™s words and said they also faced with such incidents. The lawyers asked the court to take necessary measures and to punish those who committed tortures.
Accused Vugar Aliyev said he already went on hunger strike.
Public Prosecutor Oruj Jalilov said this issue would be investigated.
The court decided to inform the General prosecutor and Minister of National Security about the incident and to provide security of accused persons.
Then the documents related to the criminal case were publicized.

Kamran Asadov, Bakhtiyar Orujov, Farid Jabbarov, Elshan Mammadov, Kamran Babayev, Samir Mehbaliyev, Terlan Karimov, Edgar Aliyev, Ramil Karimov, Shirvani Babayev, Samir Aliyev, Yalchin Maharramov, Orkhan Alizadeh, Hajibala Huseynov, Azer Ibadov, Shahriyar Maharramov, Ramin Jalilov, Rovshan Abdulaliyev, Ilkin Ismayilov and Vugar Aliyev are accused of setting up a radical religious group, attempting to start military struggle, attacking on LUKoil petrol station in Baku, preparing terror attack on the U.S. and UK embassies in Azerbaijan.
