U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission to Azerbaijan visits Ganja

Ganja. Azer Mammadli – APA. U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission to Azerbaijan Dereck Hogan visited Ganja.

APA’s western bureau reports that Dereck Hogan met with Elmar Valiyev, Head of Ganja City Executive Authority. He said that he would familiarize with the economic and socio-political life of Ganja and attend several events there.

In his turn, Elmar Valiyev informed about the activities carried out in Ganja. He said that over the last 30 years, about 30 secondary schools and 10 kindergartens were reconstructed and inaugurated in Ganja. Valiyev also stated that Heydar Aliyev Park had already been overhauled and opened and noted the importance of the construction of museums named after Mahsati Ganjavi, Nizami Ganjavi and Mirza Shafeh Vazeh.

Dereck Hogan said that he arrived in Azerbaijan five months ago and is currently familiarizing himself with the country, especially with Ganja, the second largest city of the republic.

“We want to deepen and expand our ties with Azerbaijan as possible. Therefore, we hold meetings with representatives of a number of spheres. We will meet with the teaching staff and students of Azerbaijan State Agrarian University, representatives of civil society and employees in the economic sphere,” said Dereck Hogan.

Following the meeting with Elmar Valiyev, the guests will hold meetings in the American Center and Azerbaijan State Agrarian University.
