Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. The U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar has issued a statement on February 26 - Khojaly Memorial Day, APA reports.
The statement posted on the official Facebook page of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijansays that the U.S. recognizes that the tragedy in Khojaly has created great pain for all Azerbaijanis.
“Any loss of life is tragic and the loss of life on both sides in the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia reminds us that there cannot be a military solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Only a lasting and peaceful settlement can bring stability, prosperity, and reconciliation to the region. As a Co-Chair of the Minsk Group, the United States remains firmly committed to working with the sides to achieve peace,” said the diplomat.
