Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. “There are borders that have been recognized by the international community. The borders of the Customs Union must pass through the border of Azerbaijan and Armenia,” said Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu in his interview with Russia’s RBK TV, APA’s Moscow bureau reports. He said that Azerbaijan is moving forward: “We are not going towards the European Union or the Customs Union. We have our own way. Our country is a well-to-do country. Nagorno Karabakh is recognized by the international community as the territory of Azerbaijan. This is not a controversial issue. Before starting to talk about any integration, first, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict should be resolved. The two countries, which are in the state of war, can not be represented in the same organization. CIS, which has turned into dialogue and debate club of ambassadors, was an exception. How can one state discuss the integration together with another state which has occupied its territories?”

According to the Ambassador, if Russia wants Armenia to fully integrate into the Customs Union, it should assist in the solution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

"I think Russia can solve this problem, but does not do it. Russia unambiguously recognizes Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, does not recognize the so-called "Nagorno Karabakh Republic". It means that Russia is acting properly in the international arena. If Russia recognizes Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, the border of the Customs Union should pass through the border of Azerbaijan and Armenia. The issue is very simple," he said.
