The strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan has reached a 20-year milestone, Nuraly Kamal, a leading analyst at Kazakhstan’s Institute of Eurasian Integration, told APA.
According to him, relations between the two countries have reached the highest level today, and the status of “strategic partnership” is based on permanent political trust and shared regional perspectives.
“There is an extensive legal framework between the two countries, covering more than 160 documents, including interstate agreements, intergovernmental accords, and memoranda. Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan also cooperate closely on international platforms such as the UN, the Organization of Turkic States, OSCE, and TURKSOY,” Kamal emphasized.
He also noted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Strategic Partnership and Alliance between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. According to the analyst, the new declaration signed in 2022 has further deepened the relations between the two countries.
Kamal added that both countries aim to maintain a “middle power” status in the region, which aligns fully with their national interests.
