Magdalena Grono, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, shared a post on X about her visit to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

The post reads:

"The EU will continue to play its role as a close partner, including for full-fledged normalisation and implementation of connectivity opportunities.

Deep appreciation for exchanges with President I. Aliyev, Foreign Minister J. Bayramov and other official interlocutors in Baku at this strategic point in time for the region’s peaceful future, building on Azerbaijani-Armenian bilateral dialogue and historic agreements achieved in Washington.

Relayed the EU's message of readiness to step up support to all aspects of full-fledged normalisation, including developing connectivity, building benefits of peace for region, and addressing also humanitarian issues and legacies of past.

Also traveled to Nakhchivan, where I met with Presidential Representative F. Najafli and familiarised myself with transport infrastructure on the ground, with a view to possible EU engagement."
