APA reports that Ivo Josipović noted the successful development of the relations in political, economic and cultural spheres. Stressing the existence of good potential for development of economic relations, Josipović underlined the importance of expanding the relations in energy, culture, tourism and other spheres.
He said that Croatia supports the settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the international legal norms.
Mentioning his visit to Baku, the Croatian President said the Azerbaijani people have an ancient history and rich culture.
In his turn, President Ilham Aliyev noted the active cooperation in political and economic spheres and underlined the importance of enhancing economic relations and determining new spheres.
Noting active energy cooperation, Ilham Aliyev underlined the importance of enhancing the cooperation of Azerbaijan, which is playing a significant role in Europe’s energy security, with Croatia in this sphere.
Giving detailed information about Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh, President said Armenia continues aggression against Azerbaijan, demonstrates non-constructive position ignoring the international legal norms.
Mutual investments were also discussed at the meeting. It was noted that Azerbaijan is actively making investments in a number of countries, wishes to cooperate with Croatia in terms of investments.
Prospects of the relations in the spheres of transport, culture and tourism were also discussed during the meeting. The sides spoke about the plans to improve cooperation, implement new projects.
The sides expressed confidence in the further development of the bilateral relations.
