The ambassador said that the person, who the article cites to, is unknown: “I have investigated it myself. This is the translation of a sentence from the article posted by western media. The name of the article is “Tel-Aviv and Azerbaijan against Iran”. As it is seen, the article aims to disrupt Azerbaijan-Iran relations. This news is completely groundless.”
The ambassador also commented on the incident that happened between Tehran’s “Istiglal” and Tabriz’s “Traktor” football teams. Diplomat said it was a common football confrontation: “A large number of spectators watched the match, it was also broadcasted. Some people attempt to present it differently. A flag of any country may be raised in a stadium with 75 000 seats. Similar incident can happen in Azerbaijan, too.”
The ambassador noted that Azerbaijan and Iran are fraternal and friendly countries, these incidents and news reports do not reflect the interests of both countries and nations.
