Baku – APA. “We want Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg to clarify the views he expressed at the award ceremony of the “People in Need” organization in Prague on March 4,” spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev told APA.
Abdullayev said that taking into account the intensive development of mutual relations between the two countries and recent presidential visits, such statements and views are contrary to the current relations between the two countries and can damage the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.
“If the Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic has indeed issued such a statement, we regard it as biased and not serious, we want the Czech Repubic to clarify the issue and apologize."
At the event of "People in Need" international nongovernmental organization, Karel Schwarzenberg reportedly criticized the state of human rights in Azerbaijan.
