The Middle Corridor is of strategic importance for countries such as Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, said Jeff Erlich, executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan, at a briefing dedicated to the results of the visit of the US business delegation to Azerbaijan, APA reports.
According to him, the existence of stable and reliable export routes for both raw materials and finished products is extremely important for Central Asian business circles: "Kazakhstan pays great attention to the development of finished products, especially the petrochemical industry. That is, we are not talking only about crude oil, but also about products produced in the chemical and petrochemical sectors. The presence of various transport routes is a very valuable factor. At the same time, this corridor also plays an important role for imported goods. Both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are landlocked countries. Although they have access to the Caspian Sea, they are still considered landlocked countries. Therefore, the activity of the Middle Corridor is vital for such countries. Because this route is indispensable for both exports and imports. If these opportunities are used correctly, their future prospects can be very promising."
