Armenia discusses age restrictions on minors’ use of social media

The Armenian government is discussing the possibility of introducing age restrictions on minors’ use of social media, Sargis Khandanyan, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations, stated, Armenian media reports.

“The Prime Minister’s idea is a very good one. Since the government is discussing the possibility of introducing age restrictions in this area, particularly restricting minors’ access to social media, this could indeed be useful,” Khandanyan said during a parliamentary session.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan proposed that the opposition establish a working group to discuss a possible ban on anonymous social media accounts and adopt relevant legislation.
