Azay Guliyev briefed Janez Lenarcic about the establishment, composition of the council, work done by the council and financing of NGOsâ€™ programs and projects by he government. The sides discussed establishing of NGO Management School for South Caucasus and Central Asia, holding international conference on the theme â€œDevelopment of civil society: gained practice and new challengesâ€, development of NGO infrastructure in Azerbaijani regions, efficient monitoring of the funds allocated by the council.

Janez Lenarcic highly appreciated the work done by Azerbaijani government in the field of civil society, particularly establishment of Council of State Support for NGOs under Azerbaijani President, the councilâ€™s allocating $1.5 million for NGO projects in 2008 and increasing the figure by 3 million in 2009.
Azay Guliyev also met with Olexandr Pavlyuk, Head of External Co-operation Section of OSCE.
