Munich Conference on Security Policy to focus on the South Caucasus

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov is attending the 45th Munich Conference on Security Policy, Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Khazar Ibrahim told APA. Disarmament and prevention of nuclear weapons proliferation, energy security, relations between Russia and the West, situations in the Middle East, Balkans and South Caucasus, future of NATO and problems of its mission in Afghanistan will be discussed at the conference, US Vice President Josef Biden will announce foreign policy priorities of the new administration. French President Nicolas Sarkozy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Afghan president Hamid Karzai, IAEA Director General Mohammad al-Baradei and others are attending the conference, which last until February 8.
13 heads of states and governments, 46 ministers, leaders of six international organizations, 70 officials from 50 countries are attending the conference.
