Ambassador Gabriel Keller: â€œFrance may join Nabucco in futureâ€

Baku. Lachin Sultanova â€“APA. French companies can be members of Nabucco consortium in future, Gabriel Keller, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan told APA exclusively.
He mentioned that French companies were not members of the consortium now.
â€œFrance is interested in diversification of carbohydrates. We understood the importance of diversification once again after gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine. Realization of Nabucco project will be good. It is not only purchase and consumption of energy supplies, but its source and position of transit countries are very important. It is a good thing that Azerbaijan approaches towards Nabucco project positively. It is important for implementation of the project,â€ he said.
The project worth â‚¬7.9 bln would carry Caspian gas 3,300 km (2,051 miles) across Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary to an Austrian distribution hub. Nabucco will cover 20-30 bln cu.m gas transfer.
