Baku-APA. Azerbaijani citizens Farid Hussein and Shahriyar Hajizade released from an Iranian prison, were transferred Azerbaijani Consulate General in Tabriz. They are expected to arrive in Azerbaijan on September 5, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson Elman Abdullayev told APA.
Farid Hussein and Shahriyar Hajizade were arrested in Iran, where they visited to participate in the festival of poetry on May 2. The Iranian side has long refuted the information about the detention of Azerbaijani poets. Then it turned out that both Azerbaijanis were in prison.
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry presented several official notes to Iran, demanding to clarify what happened.
