Your country is actively participating at the annual NATO+22 exercises for the partner countries”, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Plans in Operations Maurits Jochems, who is chairing at the NATO Senior Civil Emergency Planning Committee’s meeting in Baku, told APA exclusively. He noted that NATO-Azerbaijan emergency cooperation is based on the prevention of floods and bushfires and elimination of the earthquake after-effects. “Azerbaijan faced with flood problems and the government overcame this problem without assistance. Azerbaijan has not asked for the international assistance”. Regarding the question about the planning of NATO annual exercises in Azerbaijan, Jochems said Azerbaijan didn’t send such an invitation to the alliance. The similar exercises were held in Finland and Croatia earlier. This year Armenia is expected to host the exercises.
