Sandra Roelofs: “We try to create atmosphere for all national minorities in Georgia”

She noted that all health and social aid programs are open for representatives of national minorities: “We want national minorities protect their culture together with integration into Georgian society. They have schools, theatres, folklore groups”.

Answering question on whether is difficult being the First lady of Georgia or not, she said that it was pleasant thing: “Because one can function in different spheres and it is very interesting. On the other hand, there are difficulties too. It is great responsibility and honor to be the First Lady of Georgia”.

Speaking about opportunity of realization of the joint regional projects by the First ladies for settlement of conflicts, Roelofs said that they could help state structures for better activity: “But policy isn’t my work. The biggest policy for me is to be good wife and create pleasant atmosphere in the family”.

Note that, Roelofs met with Azerbaijani First lady Mehriban Aliyeva, Health Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev, interested in Azerbaijani practice in the sphere of prophylaxis and treatment of hereditary blood diseases, discussed issues on cooperation in the spheres of oncology and cardiovascular diseases. Mutual exchange of visits for low income teen-agers will be realized on the initiative of first ladies.
