U.S to purchase construction materials, foods and equipments from Azerbaijan to send to Afghanistan

Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. The Azerbaijan-U.S Maintenance and Contractor Workshop took place in Baku on Thursday. According to APA, the workshop was organized by the U.S Embassy in Baku with support of US Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. Charge d’ Affaires at the US Embassy Donald Lu highly appreciated the event and said it was organized in response to the address of the Government of Azerbaijan to the United States to purchase more goods from Azerbaijan. Regarding the joint efforts in Afghanistan, the diplomat informed the participants about the rules of sale of goods by Azerbaijani companies to U.S and said his government intended to purchase goods from the region. “We believe that Azerbaijan has qualitative goods to sell and we will purchase goods for millions dollars to send it to Afghanistanâ€. He said they would purchase construction materials, foods and equipments. “This business will be useful fro both Azerbaijan and the United Statesâ€.
Representatives of the US General Services Administration, US Defense Maintenance Agency and Seven Seas, TMC and TWI companies, which are supporting the US Government’s efforts in Afghanistan, addressed the event and informed the participants about their organizations.
U.S Transportation Command’s Deputy Foreign Policy Advisor Patrick Spatz said it was new initiative and aimed to purchase good from Azerbaijan and other countries of the region. “We made visits to Azerbaijan and received detailed information. We hope that we will get high-quality goods. The volume of the purchase will depend on the quality of goods. Now we are learning the list of wide range goodsâ€.
