According to him, mutual agreement was reached last month on the use of three disputed areas on the border of the two countries and the bridge on the Samur river. According to the agreement, the sides will equally use water supply of the Samur river, the border will pass through the middle of the bridge.
“On April 14-18 we summed up the issue of delimitation of three uncoordinated points and Samur river. All points were agreed. The sides will equally use the Samur river. The border passes through the middle of the bridge,” he said.
Garib Mammadov regarded the determination of the borders as fair. The sides have already been instructed to prepare new topographic maps of the border. But Garib Mammadov could not say when the final document will be signed.
“Complete agreement has been reached, we are preparing new maps, but there is demarcation along with the delimitation. New coordinates must be pointed. This will take much time. The final document will be likely signed by the presidents of the two countries,” he said.
Azerbaijan-Russia border is 390km long.
