Deputy Minister: â€œAzerbaijanâ€™s currency stocks exceed $50 blnâ€

The meeting was opened by member of Kyrgyz Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) Maksat Sabirov.

He gave information about outcomes of the commission’s activity in 2013. Deputy Vice-Speaker of the parliament Valeh Aleskerov noted that holding of the meeting in Baku will extend cooperation among CIS countries.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry Niyazi safarov spoke about socio-economic development of Azerbaijan during past 10 years. He said that today, Azerbaijan is initiator and executor of the largest projects in the region: “Azerbaijan is one of the leading countries for economic rate. Over 70% of GDP produced in the South Caucasus fall to share of Azerbaijan”. Safarov noted that role of non-oil sector increased recent years: “Strategic currency stocks exceeded $50 bln”.

Thereafter, other issues have been discussed.

Sabirov has been reelected chairman of the commission for the next period.

At the same time, CIS PA working plan for 2014, draft decision on financing of CIS PA activity, financial and organizational issues, works carried out for coming of interstate documents adopted by the CIS Council of Heads of State and the CIS Council of Heads of Government into force have been discussed at the meeting.
