Bank deposits increase by 21% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of April 1, 2014, the deposits in Azerbaijan-based credit organizations made AZN 13,308.1 mln, up AZN 2,295.4 mln or 20.8% compared to a year earlier. In March, the deposits rose AZN 381.5 mln or 3%.

AZN 6,656.3 mln or 50% of deposits was household deposits. The savings soared AZN 1,120.3 mln or 20.2% year-on-year.

At the same time, legal entities’ deposits stood at AZN 6,651.7 mln, up AZN 1,174.9 mln or 21.5% from a year ago.

In legal entities’ deposits, AZN 3,610.4 mln or 54.3% (up AZ 1,005 mln or 38.6%) belonged financial organizations, AZN 3,041.3 mln or 45.7% (up AZN 169.9 mln or 5.9%) - to non-financial organizations.
