Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Chamber of Accounts Vugar Gulmammadov met with World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan Larisa Leshchenko and Senior Procurement Specialist Deepal Fernando.
The Chamber of Accounts told APA-Economics that the sides exchanged views on the work done within the cooperation between the Chamber and the World Bank and prospects of cooperation.
Chairman of the Chamber briefed on Azerbaijani Chamber of Accounts experience on auditing of the World Bank projects, including inspections on the procurement procedures of the Bank, gave information about the measures on capacity building for application of the function of outside state audit in these projects. Following this, Larisa Leshchenko said the World Bank is interested in enhancing cooperation with the Chamber of Accounts. She spoke about the country system approach launched by the World Bank.
They also discussed holding trainings for a group of employees of Azerbaijani Chamber of Accounts on World Bank procurement procedures, their participation in the inspections on procurements in the projects implemented by the World Bank in various government agencies, regulation of the legal format of the cooperation with the World Bank.
