Azerbaijan and Slovakia to sign double taxation agreement

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s First Deputy of Taxes Natig Amirov met with the delegation led by State Secretary at Slovakia’s Finance Ministry Vazil Hudak.

The Ministry of Taxes told APA-Economics that Natig Amirov gave detailed information about Azerbaijan’s tax system, tax administration and application of information technologies, VAT deposit account, e-services offered to taxpayers, establishment of e-government and the work done by the Ministry of Taxes regarding switching from e-government to mobile government.

He said relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia are developing, the countries are having regular talks on the elimination of double taxation. Deputy Minister underlined the importance of cooperation between the tax bodies of the two countries, said mutual visits should be organized with the view of studying positive experience in the field of tax administration.

Vazil Hudak said Slovakia attaches special importance to the relations with Azerbaijan, noted that mutual visits of the high-level delegations have been organized in the recent years. He said talks are underway on the Convention between the governments of Azerbaijan and Slovakia on the elimination of double taxation on income and property taxes and prevention of tax evasion, the talks will be completed soon.

The sides exchanged views on the potential and prospects of the cooperation between the countries.
