Azerbaijan-based banks sees rise in foreign liabilities

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of December 1, 2013, total foreign liabilities of Azerbaijan-based commercial banks made AZN 3,810.7 mln, by rising AZN 924.1 mln or 32.0%.

Central Bank of Azerbaijan says foreign liabilities rose AZN 737.1 mln or 24.0% in January-November, AZN 148.0 mln or 4.0% n November.

At the same time, as of December 1, 2013, banks’ total foreign assets stood at AZN 2,485.1 mln, up AZN 389.4 mln or 18.6% in comparison to a year earlier. In January-November, these assets increased by AZN 469.0 mln or 23.3%, in November – by AZN 261.4 mln or 11.8%.
