Baku. Shamil Alibeyli - APA-Economics. Trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan is $532m, Iran’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen told journalists, APA-Economics reports.
He said the trade turnover mostly covers non-oil sector. “There is informal trade of approximately the same volume between the two countries,” he said.
Speaking about the construction of railway between Iran and Nakhchivan Mohsen Pak Ayeen said the project is on the level of initial studies. “Currently, we have focused on Gazvin-Rasht-Astara railway project. We want to accomplish this issue,” he said.
Touching on the problems on the border, the diplomat said discussions have started on the level of chiefs of border commissions and foreign ministers of the two countries to solve these problems. “The discussions will be continued by end of the day. Memorandum of Understanding will be likely signed. It will cover all border-related issues,” he said.
