Azerbaijan sees 23% in bank deposits

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of February 1, 2014, the deposits in Azerbaijan-based credit organizations made AZN 12,683.0 mln, up AZN 2,325.4 mln or 22.5% compared to a year earlier. In January, the deposits rose AZN 207.2 mln or 1.7%.

AZN 6,451.4 mln of deposits was household savings. The savings soared AZN 1,136.0 mln or 21.4% year-on-year.

At the same time, legal entities’ deposits stood at AZN 6,231.6 mln, up AZN 1,189.4 mln or 23.6% from a year ago.

In legal entities’ deposits, AZN 3,383.4 mln or 54.3% belonged financial organizations, AZN 2,848.2 mln or 45.7% - to non-financial organizations. In annual comparison, financial organizations’ deposits rose AZN 747.4 mln or 28.3%, non-financial organizations’ deposits – AZn 442.0 mln or 18.4%.
