Azerbaijan sees 17% rise in bank deposits

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of January 1, 2014, the deposits in Azerbaijan-based credit organizations made AZN 12,475.8 mln, up AZN 1,776.6 mln or 16.6% compared to a year earlier. In December, 2013, the deposits rose AZN 43.1 mln or 0.4%.

AZN 6,395.8 mln or 51.3% of deposits was household savings. The savings soared AZN 1,282.4 mln or 25.1% compared to a year ago.

At the same time, legal entities’ deposits stood at AZN 6,079.9 mln, up AZN 494.0 mln or 8.8% from a year ago.

In legal entities’ deposits, AZN 3,261.5 mln or 53.6% belonged financial organizations (up AZN 478.5 mln or 17.2%), AZN 2,818.4 mln or 46.4% - to non-financial organizations (up AZn 15.5 mln or 0.6%).
