In 2023, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia exceeded $900 million, which is 15% higher compared to previous year, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov who is on a visit to Tbilisi, said at a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart Ilia Darchiashvili, APA reports.
He emphasized that the Azerbaijani SOCAR company is among the largest taxpayers in Georgia.
"Azerbaijan has been a reliable energy source for Georgia for many years. Azerbaijan gains access to global markets through Georgia. These projects not only contributed significantly to the region but also make substantial contributions to the global energy map," he added.
The Minister noted that Azerbaijan is one of the largest investors of Georgia.
