USAID Administrator meets with Azeri government officials and business executives

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev â€“ APA-Economics. USAID Administrator and Director of U.S. Foreign Assistance Henrietta H. Fore met with government officials and business executives during his visit from November 23 to 26.
USAIDâ€™s Office in Baku said Administrator Fore had the opportunity to meet Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev, Head of State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) Shahmar Movsumov, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) President Rovnag Abdullayev, Chairman of National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA) Elman Rustamov and Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyngulu Bagirov.
The meetings mainly focused on a number of issues, including further progress in key areas of USAIDâ€™s ambitious economic reform agenda, which is being co-financed with the Government of Azerbaijan, intergenerational equity on the usage of the endowment, and the efficient and transparent usage of oil revenues through the application of rigorous cost-benefit analysis principles, implementation of USAID-supported projects and so on.
Hosted by AmCham and Eurasia Partnership Foundation (EPF), Administrator Fore took full advantage of the luncheon with leading US and Azerbaijani business executives. Ms. Fore provided an overview ofUSAIDâ€™s Global Development Alliance (GDA) initiative and discussed exisiting and potential new public-private partnerships within Azerbaijan.
