In simple words, purchasing power index describes sum of all net incomes available for buying goods and services. This index is negative when it is below 1 or sum of all net incomes are not sufficient to purchase goods and services. The rise indicates that sum of net incomes increase and sum of expenditure for goods and services decrease. According to the State Statistical Committee, incomes of the population for January-June increased by 9.7%, retail commodity turnover by 8.4%, cost of services by 10.5%.
Retail commodity turnover was AZN 6 258.6 million, paid services AZN 2 026.4 million, incomes of the population AZN 11 483.7 in January-June.
