Populationâ€™s deposits with banks rise 30% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The total of deposits put with Azeri banks by Azerbaijani nationals amounted to AZN 2.5 billion at June 1, 2010, up 29.7% from the same period last year.

The State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics that AZN 1 061.7 mln (42.8%) of the deposits were saved in national currency and AZN 1.420 bln (57.2%) in foreign currencies, rose by 51.3% and 17.2% from the same period last year.

In March the US dollar was trading at AZN 0.80 and euro was trading at AZN 0.98 and 100 rubles at AZN 2.57.
