On August 23, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed two decrees enacting new sanctions packages, Zelenskyy announced this on Facebook, APA reports.

“The first decree concerns the synchronization of our partners’ sanctions in Ukraine, in particular Canada’s sanctions. This is 100% alignment with this year’s Canadian sanctions targeting 139 individuals and legal entities working for Russia’s war. Together with our partners, we are also preparing decisions on synchronizing Ukrainian sanctions within partner jurisdictions. Everyone who helps Russia continue the killings and build its war machine for further aggression must feel real global pressure,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, the second decree targets 28 citizens of various countries “who are equally helping the Russians in maintaining the occupation regime on our land and effectively sponsoring the Russian state.”

“For each of these names, we are also working with law enforcement agencies of partner countries. All accomplices of the Russian occupiers will, one way or another, be held accountable for their actions against Ukraine and Ukrainians,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
