Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that Ukraine is ready for a high-level meeting with Russia, responding to Russian President Vladimir Putin's earlier remarks, APA reports.
"If these are signals of a genuine willingness to end the war with dignity and establish a truly lasting peace - and not merely an attempt to buy more time for war or delay sanctions - then Ukraine once again reaffirms its readiness to meet at the level of leaders at any time," Zelensky wrote on his X account.
The Ukrainian president added that Kyiv "understands" who makes decisions in Russia and who "must end" the military conflict between the two countries. He also underlined that Ukraine has repeatedly called for a high-level meeting and expressed gratitude to the United States President Donald Trump and to "everyone around the world who supports peace efforts and helps us protect lives."
