"Since last night, Russia has been carrying out a massive attack on Ukraine – primarily targeting our energy sector and civilian infrastructure, essentially the entire infrastructure of daily life. Over 650 drones have already been launched, a significant number of them “shaheds.” More than 30 missiles were also used," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an X post, APA reports.
"As of now, air raid alerts remain in effect across most of Ukraine. At the same time, all necessary services are engaged in dealing with the aftermath of the strike. Tragically, lives were lost. In the Kyiv region, a woman was killed by a Russian drone. One person was pronounced dead in the Khmelnytskyi region. In the Zhytomyr region, a four-year-old child was killed after a Russian drone struck a residential building. My condolences to the families and loved ones," Ukrainian President noted.
"Overall, at least thirteen regions have already come under attack. A significant number of drones and missiles were shot down. Detailed information from the Air Force will be provided later, once all reports are received. However, there were also hits. Repair crews and energy workers are already on the ground, working to ensure normal life for people, our cities, and our communities."
"We must remain committed to protecting life in order to finally achieve peace," said Zelensky.
