The European Union’s delegation in Georgia continues to promote confrontation in the country, said First Deputy Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Gia Volski while commenting on the EU delegation’s post marking State Flag Day in the country today, APA’s local bureau reports.

According to him, the delegation is not acting on its own initiative but following instructions, noting that large sums of money have been spent on the growth of extremism in Georgia.

Volski emphasized that today the EU delegation in Georgia is operating as an entity with specific political objectives.

Another vice-speaker, Nino Tsilosani, also commented on the post. She wrote on her social media account that the EU delegation interprets State Flag Day in a strange way—as a symbol of riots and a coup d’état.

“I wish the same to you, friends,” Tsilosani added.

It is noted that the video clip included in the post also features footage from violent protest actions in Tbilisi.
