UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is seeking to persuade US President Donald Trump to abandon any move to annex Greenland, according to reports in the British media, APA reports, citing The i Paper.
Sources within the UK government say Sir Keir plans to work alongside NATO allies to convince Washington that Europe is capable of safeguarding security in the Arctic region.
Officials believe that a coordinated diplomatic effort within NATO could reassure the US administration that European allies can play a stronger role in maintaining stability in the Arctic, reducing the need for unilateral action.
The report adds that London views the Arctic as an increasingly strategic region, where preserving political and military balance is becoming a growing priority for European allies.
