The national postal services of France, Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom have announced that they will temporarily suspend parcel shipments to the US starting next week, APA reports, citing Politico.
The decision comes ahead of new tariffs that will take effect at the end of this month on imports valued at less than $800.
US President Donald Trump signed an order last month ending the long-standing tax exemption for low-value goods imports, which will be abolished as of August 29.
Postal services halting shipments have accused Washington of not giving them enough time to prepare for the new rules.
It was noted that the mandatory measures, which will take effect starting Monday, will remain in place until practical solutions are found regarding the new tariffs.
